About the training material

The main aim of the project is to create a vocational training material for people living and working land based activities. The primary target group for this project is as follows: farmers who cultivate their own land, (family farms), farm workers, the unemployed, specialists of small companies.

By acquiring modern plant protection knowledge the project elaborates within the frame of adult training a material consisting of 14 +2 teaching modules, which facilitates the professional further training of the above mentioned target group.

The preliminarily proposed modules are based on the below plants: grain, maize, potato, tomato, grapes, apple, paprika, stone-fruit, sorts of cabbage, sorts of melon, sunflower, root vegetables, cucumber and barley. The + 2 modules introduce the 2 large plant cultures that are mostly spread in the Mediterranean countries, namely sorts of citrus and olive.

The result of the project will be a modern, complex, mature plant protection professional training material based on CD-ROM. The complex plant protection special training material will have a practical approach, and will demonstrate the diseases, parasites, pests,and weeds on the selected plant groups simultaneously. The teaching material will otherwise include the below chapters by plants: general introduction of the plant, (morphologic features, life cycle), plant protection (parasites, weeds, plant protection procedures).
